My Name is Michael Bovenkerk but the kids call me (MR. B)

I have been with Delta Home since 2020. Prior to that I taught at Modesto City Schools. I have always had a passion for working with children. I was a Social Worker for a non-profit in Stanislaus county and I have volunteered at our churches youth group. I'm that weird teacher who is willing to try something new, like standing on a desk to get the kids attention or taking them outside to do a writing assignment. I believe that all kids have greatness in them even the ones who teachers find challenging. Some students just need help finding it.

I currently live in Modesto with my Awesome, Incredible Wife and 5 adult kids. We are a blended family and on our tenth anniversary we were able to adopt each other kids. We have a daughter that we claim as ours whom we have mentored through her life and who has five beautiful children that we consider our grandchildren. We have two dogs and a cat at home and two of our kids have dogs of their own. So yes, if your doing the math, that's 4 dogs.

My faith is very important in my life. I love riding my motorcycle, camping, sitting around a campfire in the backyard talking with friends, but most of all I love playing board games with my kids and getting lost in their laughter. I love stupid movies and science fiction movies. OHHHHH and did I forget to mention STAR WARS, I love me some STAR WARS. So I will end with a simple quote.
