Janice Saucedo DCO & Delta Keys ELL Teacher

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

My name is Janice Saucedo and I have been passionate about education since I was a young child.  Making detailed observations from my teachers, I started keeping notes in the third grade of practices that I would implement in my own classroom (and those I would not).  I have always known I would teach, and I have loved every minute of it!

This is my third year working for both Delta Keys and Delta Charter Online.  I love the flexibility of our programs, and the one-on-one relationships that we have with our students.  Last year I had the opportunity to begin teaching an English class for our English Language Learners.  This is one of my favorite times of the week, as I get to pair my love of words with my love of education.  Though not all my students share my love for the English language, they all participate and have enriched my teaching experience immensely.

Prior to my time here, I homeschooled my children, and we participated in a co-op for over ten years, where I was able to teach nearly every grade from kindergarten through high school.  I was also in charge of the Student Body Council and the Yearbook.  Although I always anticipated teaching elementary school after homeschooling my own children, my time at both Cornerstone Co-op and Delta Charter has awakened an excitement about high-schoolers that I did not previously have.  I enjoy their level of critical thinking, their ability to debate, and their hopefulness about life.  My goal is to watch each of my students graduate with their diploma, knowing how valuable they are, and realizing that we need the gifts and talents that they have.
